A: It’s difficult to answer “how much” sensitivity you can expect to lose after breast lift surgery but most patients report that they are able to retain complete or near complete sensation. During the initial postoperative period, there may be a temporary loss or decrease in sensation primarily due to swelling. As the swelling subsides, the sensation will return. There is the potential that you may experience a change in the sensitivity of your nipples and the skin of your breast. On occasion, patients have reported that their nipples are “supersensitive.” In this case desensitization, exercises can be performed to diminish the sensitivity. This involves gently rubbing the nipples with cotton ball and then progressing to a more course material.

If you maintain your post-lipo weight, your surgical result should be long-lasting. But if you gain even five pounds, the fat cells in other areas of your body—as well as those that remain in the treated area—will grow larger, possibly diminishing your results. In cases of considerable weight gain, new fat cells can develop all over the body, including in the treated areas, though the area will still look better than if you didn’t have liposuction.
Finally, there’s the so-called scarless lift. Women who are seeking a mild lift but are dead set against leaving scars anywhere on their breasts may opt for a technique that uses a network of dissolving surgical threads inserted through tiny incisions along the collar bone, guided under the breast tissue, and then anchored to the collar bone, to create an internal bra of sorts. Scar tissue forms around the threads, theoretically providing support to lift the nipple.

Clinical studies have shown that the average cost per minute of operating room time is around $60. However, the true cost of an operating room depends on the particulars of the operating facility. Some doctors say that they do the Brazilian butt lift surgery in office operating rooms that run at cost, and make the money off the surgery. Others charge less for surgery to make up the difference in the charges of their office operating room while there is a small portion of plastic surgeons that operate in office operating rooms for which they are charged hourly, with no control over the hourly charge.

Any licensed physician can perform liposuction, but it’s usually performed by plastic surgeons and dermatologists in their offices with local anesthesia, though it may be performed in a hospital under general anesthesia. No special training is required, though some doctors’ professional associations recommend it. When choosing a doctor, you may want to consider whether they have had specific training for liposuction and how many they have performed.

Dr. Nichter and Dr. Horowitz prefer to use a short #scar technique, known as the “lollipop scar” or “donut lift” rather than anchor pattern lift which involve more significant scarring, and is used by the majority of surgeons in the United States. Additionally, scar therapy with scar maturation products (e.g. BioCorneum or Embrace) are suggested for managing scars. However, we recommend you begin usage of scar improving products a few weeks following your surgery. It is always recommend to call and see your surgeon to discuss your #healing concerns.
Following surgery, Breast Lift scars are red and normally slightly raised, but over 3 – 6 months after surgery they usually fade and flatten out, becoming thin, barely visible lines. For incisions along the areolar border, the scars are usually partially disguised by the skin color contrast (between the dark areola and lighter breast skin) and the uneven surface of the areola.

Experienced breast surgeons create a personalized surgical strategy just for you in advance of your breast lift. The plan takes into account your specific goals for the breast lift, along with your body size, age, skin tone and elasticity and more. The best breast surgeons never perform a generic breast lift—every procedure should be designed to fit your unique needs and your anatomy.

Hello, thanks for your question, breast lift or breast reduction are delicate surgical procedures, they have been planned to leave the smallest scar possible; for correcting too ptotic (saggy) or bigger breasts larger incisions are needed, also the consequence will be longer scars, so the scar would be a result of the correction of the breast deformity, its good to know that patients almost always accepts scars instead of having a non atractive breast. If a patient doesn't want to have any scar after having a breast lift, a non realistic thought is ocurring and this patient is not ready to have this surgicsl procedure.
While on the subject of minimizing lift scars, many people use breast implants to fill up an empty or slightly droopy breast. Though this is just a semantic way of thinking about it, droopy breasts need to be lifted, and deflated/collapsed breasts may be fixable with an implant. Of course, a woman has to want to have implants and be larger to approach droopiness with an implant. And one of the most common problems I see in women with implants is women who really needed a lift, but instead chose to put in a big implant, making them larger than they wanted to be and stretching and thinning their tissue out more.

At this point, opinions vary. Some doctors seem to agree that having a tummy tuck and a Brazilian butt lift simultaneously is the recommended way so that the patient does not have to undergo a second surgery and second-time anaesthesia. Also, costs are less if those two surgeries are performed in one go. Other surgeons suggest the butt lift and tummy tuck are done separately. This is because the recovery after a tummy tuck involves the patient remains in any flexed or bent position at the hips while the recovery after a butt augmentation requires that the patient reduces the pressure applied to the butt region, as much as possible. So, for a patient that has had both procedures at the same time, it will be difficult to find a position that makes them feel comfortable. The rest of the plastic surgeons recommend the patient has the butt lift first, where fat is aggressively being removed from the waist and abdomen, and then schedules to have a tummy tuck to address the loose skin in the trunk and the abdomen after they have recovered from the butt lift.
Usually, medically necessary surgery dictates where incisions must be made, and it’s sometimes difficult to place those incisions where visibility is reduced. In addition, because medical surgery is performed to improve your health—or possibly even save your life—the surgeon’s focus will be on the primary purpose of the procedure rather than the cosmetic aspects. This may mean closing the incision in one layer, or using staples, which themselves cause scars in addition to the incision.

A Bra Lift with Laser (Laser Bra Lift): Some doctors will want to use a laser bra lift as an insurance policy that your breasts won’t sag. It’s actually not really an alternative to breast lift surgery as it is an extra procedure. In the laser bra surgery, the laser is used to create a bra-like effect that protects the surgical results of the breast lift. Laser energy will always stimulate the production of new collagen fibers, which give you more support of any tissues. Always look at the before and after pictures to see whether or not you think there is enough improvement.

A major key to making sure that the breast lift process is as comfortable as possible is planning ahead of time. Much of the post-operative discomfort is due to swelling. While wearing a compression bra should help manage some of the swelling and help reduce pain, there are other things that can be done to reduce swelling and make your recovery easier.
